Henry MacHaleHenry MacHale
Global Head of Crisis Management

Henry graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA in Business Studies and subsequently worked in the Credit Hybrids trading team within a major investment bank in London. Henry ran his own business in Nairobi, Kenya before returning to London in 2010 where he joined Aspen APJ. Henry has extensive experience operating in sub-Saharan Africa, and has also conducted business in Latin America and the Middle East.

Peter BransdenPeter Bransden
Underwriter (Miami)

Peter joined Aspen APJ in 2010. He holds a BA and MSc from Oxford University and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). He has spoken on the subject of kidnap and ransom insurance to conferences in the Americas, Continental Europe and the Middle East. Peter has experience working in London, Mexico City and Miami and speaks Spanish.

Rob WoodRob Wood
Underwriter

Rob joined Aspen in 2014 and holds a BA in Law from The University of East Anglia. He has extensive experience from his previous role leading a successful K&R team at another Lloyd’s syndicate and now specialises in corporate K&R, Piracy, and Active Assailant business lines. Rob is ACII qualified and has experience working in both London and France.

 

Callum Higgins Callum Higgins
Underwriter

Callum joined Aspen in 2014 initially supporting the K&R and Piracy books, before gaining experience on the operational side of the business. Callum joined the Crisis Management team in 2017 and works across the K&R, Piracy and Product Recall portfolios. He holds a Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (Cert CII).

 

Guy Gifford Guy Gifford
Underwriting Assistant (Miami)

Guy joined Aspen’s Crisis Management team in 2017 and supports development of the Latin American K&R book. Guy has worked in International Banking for over 13 years, with positions in the US, UK and South America. A British-Peruvian, Guy is bilingual in English and Spanish, and he is currently obtaining his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.

 

Sophie Miller-Smith Sophie Miller-Smith
Assistant Underwriter

Sophie joined Aspen in 2016 on the Graduate Scheme. She holds a BSc in Criminology and Social Policy from Cardiff University. Before joining the Crisis Management team she completed rotations in Aspen’s Global Casualty and Credit and Political Risk teams.
